Sheridan County man sentenced for 2007 slayingJun 26 2009 10:03PM
Associated Press BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) A 59-year-old Sheridan County man will probably spend the rest of his life in a state mental health institution for fatally shooting a man in the small community of Homestead. District Judge David Cybulski sentenced Keith Allen Waller on Tuesday to 100 years in the custody of the state Department of Public Health and Human Services for the June 2007 slaying of 60-year-old Darryl Norby. Waller will probably spend that time in the Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs, where he has received treatment since his arrest on the day of the murder. He pleaded guilty to deliberate homicide in March as part of an agreement that called for a recommendation to the hospital. No motive for the shooting has been found.
