On The Green

After covering a large part of the northern part of the state, this week we head west for this week's installment of "On the Green".

(ANDY LERAAS) "Welcome to this weeks segment of On the Green. Today we take you out to the Links of North Dakota near Ray. Where head Golf pro Jake Kasza talks to us about his signature hole."

(JAKE KASZA)"This is the fifth hole at the Links of North Dakota at Ray, North Dakota. This is a 445 yard par 4. It's the third handicap hole on the golf course. So it is one of the more demanding holes. It has two things about it that I love on a golf hole. It is a very blind tee shot where the golfer must be very trustee and be very faithful that where they choose to hit the ball is where the ball needs to end up. But it also rewards a well struct tee shot. It is a beautiful hole that as soon as you crest the hill you'll see the lake and you'll have one beautiful approach shot to the green. Well i've got 80 yards left to the flag stick and the hole is located in the center of the green. This shot is playing quite a bit downwind today so i'm going to need to land it short of the hole and let is release towards the flag. For this shot i've chosen to hit a sandwedge and i'm going to make a soft three quarter swing, try to land it on the front part of the green and if I hit it well it will roll right into the middle and hopefully within a few feet of the cup. Thank you for joining us at the Links of North Dakota and experiencing pure golf near Ray. We'll be back again next week with another segment of On the Green." watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
