900 turn out for biker's funeralJul 1 2009 7:43AM
Associated Press LARIMORE, N.D. (AP) More than 900 people turned out at the school gym in Larimore to pay tribute to a fallen biker. Longtime residents say it was the largest funeral in the history of the town of 1,400 people. More than 200 motorcycles lined the street. Sixty-one-year-old Roger Ready died last Thursday after a crash on state Highway 200. Fellow riders say he hit a pothole, and wasn't wearing a helmet. Ready was chaplain for several groups, including Resurrection Riders, the local chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Paul Redding, one of the organizers of the funeral, says people came from Canada, South Dakota and Minnesota for Tuesday's service. Ready was to be buried Wednesday in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan. Information from: Grand Forks Herald, http://www.grandforksherald.com (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
