ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) Cindy Kopecky of Faulkton has been selected as Spirit Coach of the Year by the South Dakota High School Coaches Association.

Faulkton has won the Class B state cheer title the past two years.

The South Dakota high school activities association added competitive cheer and Dance to its list of recognized activities two years ago.

Other nominees for the spirit award were Brittney Eide of Corsica, Lacey Fryberger of Huron and Dawn Stulka of Pierre. Diane Gilbertz of Brandon Valley received the award last year.
