MOUNT VERNON, S.D. (AP) A Vivian man died of head injuries over the weekend when he fell under his lawn mower.

Davison County Chief Deputy Steve Brink says 42-year-old Michael Heuer was mowing alone at a property about 3 1/2 miles south of Mount Vernon on Sunday morning when the accident occurred.

Heuer was mowing beneath some evergreen trees, and officials say he might have been knocked from the mower by a low branch. He was declared dead at the scene.

Brink says the death has been ruled accidental.
