BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) Montana State University-Billings has hired Shawn O'Brien as the Yellowjacket men's and women's Golf coach.

Athletics Director Gary Gray announced the hiring Thursday.

O'Brien is a native of Gillette, Wyo., and is no stranger to the MSUB athletic department.

He spent the past year as a volunteer assistant women's Basketball coach for head coach Kevin Woodin.

O'Brien was an assistant coach for boys basketball at Belfield High School in North Dakota in 2006-07. He was an assistant varsity girls coach at Campbell County High School in Wyoming in 2007-08.

He had an outstanding collegiate career as a kicker in Football at Dickinson State.
