2-vehicle crash in northern SD kills woman Eds: APNewsNow.

BOWDLE, S.D. (AP) A 31-year-old McLaughlin woman has died in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 12 in northern South Dakota.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says both vehicles were westbound four miles east of Bowdle about 5:45 p.m. Friday when a woman in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix tried to pass Ann Veitz's 2003 Chevy Blazer. The vehicles came into contact with each other, causing Veitz to lose control and roll into a ditch.

Veitz died at the scene as a result of her injuries.
