BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) The Bureau of Indian Affairs is delaying for another 60 days a decision on whether to grant federal recognition to a small, landless Montana Indian tribe. The roughly 4,300 members of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians are recognized by the state of Montana but have so far been unsuccessful in their decades-long fight for federal acknowledgment.

HAVRE, Mont. (AP) Three Havre men are pleading not guilty to charges that the stole fireworks from a Jaycees booth and set the booth on fire. Twenty-year-old Charles Stratton, 18-year-old Lester Skramstad and 18-year-old Anthony Groce appeared in court Friday.

The Jaycees had to scramble for donations to put on a Fourth of July display after the June 30 fire.

BELFRY, Mont. (AP) Carbon County officials have released the names of a couple killed in a fiery semi-truck crash on Highway 72 between Bridger and Belfry. The sheriff's department says 39-year-old Kevin Woeppel and 46-year-old Jodi Woeppel of Fromberg were killed in the crash yesterday morning. The truck was hauling gasoline and diesel fuel.

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) A 77-year-old Wyoming man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover on a road about 12 miles north of Columbia Falls, Mont. The Montana Highway Patrol says Voney Tuttle of Lancer, Wyo. was southbound at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, hit a guardrail and then rolled his pickup truck one and one-half times.
