Associated Press GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) Montana finished fourth overall in team standings at the National High School Rodeo Finals, held over the weekend in Farmington, N.M. A.J. St. Goddard of Browning placed third in bareback for the best Montana finish in any event, helping the Montana boys to a fifth-place finish. The Montana girls were eighth. Texas won the combined boys and girls team title with 8,315 points, followed by Utah with 6,922, Louisiana with 5,826 and Montana with 5,400. Clay Gruel of Great Falls was fifth in saddle bronc, followed by Robert Waggoner of Browning in sixth. Jason Schaffer of Broadus was ninth in the nation in the all-around standings and Ty Erickson of Helena was ninth in steer wrestling. For the girls, Cadee Tew of Harlowton was fourth in breakaway roping while Danielle Staudenmeyer of Dillon was ninth in goat tying.
