Grand Forks, N.D. (AP) Local officials have lost a bid to keep the current Grand Forks landfill open until a replacement is finished. Federal officials consider the site a hazard to low-flying aircraft.

(AP) The Treasure Hunters Roadshow is working out a license issue that forced it to turn people away at its Bismarck stop yesterday. The show's manager got a permit from the city, but says he did not know he needed a transient merchant's license from the state attorney general's office.

The 1,200-person town will use its $122,680 federal grant to hire another officer to go with the two full-time officers and one part-timer it has now.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) A conference on unmanned aircraft continues today at the University of North Dakota. Air Force officials say they need college students to help develop unmanned aircraft systems, including a new drone that likely will take at least 10 years to get off the ground.
