KXMBTV Bismarck This is the second-annual Marshall's ride. Former Wilton resident, Marshall Erickson lost his battle with cancer last year. His family started the ride in his honor and to raise money for the Bismarck Cancer Society... "It means more to our patients than it means anything to us. We are able to give that money back to our patients through support services. We have a lot of patients that come a long way and we are able to offer housing and transportation assistance. We have social workers available. We have dietary care and also some charity care for those that are under insured or uninsured." says Amy Gross/Bismarck Cancer Center. Last year the event was held at the Erickson Farm. This year, the City of Wilton helped out with the eventwhich included a parade through town. "We've got about 70 people that were riding horses and many more that were just coming in to make donations to the cancer center and we also have a Thrivant that is matching funds up to 500 dollars which is wonderful." says Joan Kruckenberg/Wilton City Council. All money collected through the event will go to the Bismarck Cancer Center.
