Lakota stabbing suspect pleads not guiltyAug 11 2009 7:00AM
Associated Press Devils Lake, N.D. (AP) A Maddock man has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and aggravated assault in the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in Lakota. Twenty-one-year-old James Garber Jr. is accused of stabbing the teenager and leaving him bleeding on a basement floor. Authorities say the boy was knifed in the neck, chest, abdomen and back during a fight at his home July 2. Garber was arrested the next day in Colby, Kan. Authorities did not identify the boy. Garber is jailed in Devils Lake on $300,000 bail. He is due back in court for a pretrial conference Nov. 9.
