Minn. county commissioner charged with tax felonyAug 14 2009 11:05AM
Associated Press ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) A longtime Roseau County commissioner is facing criminal charges for failing to file state income taxes. The Minnesota Department of Revenue says the Pennington County Attorney's office has charged Orris Rasmussen with four gross misdemeanors and one felony for failing to file personal income taxes for five years. The agency says Rasmussen skipped filing taxes from 2003 to 2007, when his income ranged from $52,000 to $74,000 a year. Rasmussen says he's working with attorneys to get an extension to settle the matter. Rasmussen has served on the Roseau County board since 1992. He is retired from the Roseau County Highway Department. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 08-14-09 1053CDT |
