EAST Grand Forks, Minn. (AP) The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash of a crop-dusting plane near East Grand Forks in northwestern Minnesota.

The Polk County sheriff's office says the plane crashed around 9 a.m. Saturday. The pilot was taken to a Grand Forks, N.D., hospital, where he was treated and released.

The plane sheared off a section of its right wing when it went down in a sugarbeet field about three miles northeast of East Grand Forks.

The plane belongs to the aerial applicator company Agrimax. The company's president, Dave Garrett, declined to comment about the crash or identify the pilot until the FAA is finished with its investigation.
