Associated Press Bismarck, N.D. (AP) A screening committee will be interviewing six attorneys for a North Dakota district judgeship in Dickinson today. Five Dickinson lawyers and a Medora attorney are competing for Gov. John Hoeven's appointment to succeed Southwest District Judge Allan Schmalenberger. He retired July 31. Linton, N.D. (AP) Residents of Linton have voted to abandon their city water service and join a rural water district. Auditor Wendy Kelsch says the vote was 367 in favor and 45 against hooking up to a South Central Rural Water District pipeline with treated Missouri River water. The south central North Dakota communities of Hazelton and Hague also plan votes at a later date on whether to join the rural water system.
