HAZEL, S.D. (AP) A rural Hazel area man died in a hospital from burns he received at a farmstead. The Hamlin County sheriff said 88-year-old Lyle Singrey spilled gas on his clothing while burning weeds and rubbish.

CLEAR LAKE, S.D. (AP) A Britton man accused of shooting at two deputies during a standoff last spring will be sentenced later this month. Twenty-nine-year-old Jacob James Stark pleaded guilty to aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer.
