2 more ND sites added to historic registerSep 13 2009 6:11AM
Associated Press Bismarck, N.D. (AP) State officials say a former Grant County church and a Grand Forks home have been listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Trinity Heupel Church, or Heupel Church, built in 1905, is nine miles north of New Leipzig. The State Historical Society says the German-Russian church has helped preserve language and culture. The society says the Grand Forks home at 1019 Reeves Drive was added to the Grand Forks Near Southside Historic District for its original 1922 design. The State Historical Society also said information on Burleigh County's Double Ditch Indian Village State Historic Site has been updated, after archaeologists discovered two more ditches besides the two for which the site is named.
