Adrian Peterson scored three touchdowns and ran for 180 yards as the Vikings overcame a sluggish start to beat the Browns 34-20 yesterday in Cleveland.

CLEVELAND (AP) Rookie wide receiver Percy Harvin of the Minnesota Vikings has tallied his first NFL touchdown, followed by an unexpected hit. Brett Favre showed his congratulations by tackling Harvin after the two connected yesterday on the 6-yard touchdown pass.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Minnesota Twins have avoided a three-game sweep at home against Oakland. Rookie Brian Duensing won his third straight decision in the Twins' 8-0 victory over the Athletics yesterday. Joe Mauer had three hits, including his 27th home run.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) The Minnesota Lynx have ended the season with a loss in Sacramento. Nicole Powell had 27 points to help the Monarchs cruise to an 88-66 victory last night. Charde Houston scored 18 points for Minnesota, which has a record of 14-20.
