Associated Press PIERRE, S.D. (AP) Kadoka Area School District Superintendent Mary Austad says it's a bit early to judge the success of the district's four-day schedule, but students seemed pleased to be able to start their weekends a day early. Austad says she'd like to see the four-day week concept continue for a few years before a decision is made on its success. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) A recent survey ranks the Sioux Falls area fifth nationally for its employment outlook for the last three months of the year. A Manpower Employment Outlook Survey found that 15 percent of Sioux Falls-area companies interviewed plan to hire more employees, while 7 percent expect to reduce their payrolls. YANKTON, S.D. (AP) The state Game, Fish & Parks Department is seeking comment on proposed changes to its first-come, first-serve campground reservation system. If the new same-day reservation system is adopted, it would allow campers to begin making reservations by phone or computer at 7 a.m. for later in a given day. They'd know immediately if a site's available. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) Longtime Minnehaha County State's Dave Nelson has been appointed as a member of the South Dakota Board of Pardons and Paroles. Nelson was the state's attorney in Sioux Falls from 1988 to 2008. He's also a past president of the South Dakota State's Attorney Association. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
