Missoula, Mont. (AP) The fourth-ranked Montana Grizzlies open Big Sky Conference play today with a home game against Portland State. Montana has a 2-0 record including a 17-10 win over UC Davis last weekend, while the Vikings are 1-1 after a 34-10 win over Southern Oregon.

UNDATED (AP) Three Frontier Conference Football games are on tap at 1 p.m. today second-ranked Carroll College travels to Billings to take on Rocky Mountain College, 16th-ranked Montana State-Northern hosts Montana Western and Eastern Oregon is at Montana Tech.

WHITEFISH, Mont. (AP) Carroll College forward Megan O'Connell has been named the Frontier Conference women's Soccer offensive player of the week. The sophomore from Kalispell, had two goals and four points as Carroll went 1-1 last week.

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) Jeremy Avery scored on a 67-yard screen pass and added a 74-yard run in No. 10 Boise State's 51-34 victory over Fresno State last night. Titus Young scored two touchdowns as Boise State won for the 57th time in its past 59 Western Athletic Conference games.
