4 ordered to stand trial in June ND shootoutSep 21 2009 6:26PM
Associated Press Dickinson, N.D. (AP) A judge has found enough evidence to put four people on trial on charges they robbed a video store before a shootout with authorities in southwestern North Dakota in June. Ashton Mink, his wife Jacquelin Mink, his sister Angela Mink, and Joshua Southwick are charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and murder. The four pleaded not guilty during a hearing Monday before Judge Zane Anderson, who ordered them to stand trial on the charges. He did not immediately set a trial date. Authorities say Southwick and Ashton Mink escaped from an Alabama prison on May 25, and that Jacquelin and Angela Mink helped in the escape. Ashton and Jacquelin Mink are accused of charging and shooting at officers after a standoff near Gladstone, in Stark County. Detective Terry Oestreich (EAST'-rik) testified in court that one of the four put a bullet through a Highway Patrol trooper's windshield. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
