Grand Forks, N.D. (AP) A former supervisor at the Northeast Human Service Center in Grand Forks is accused of forging prescriptions to get painkillers. Tami Byzewski is charged in both North Dakota and Minnesota. She resigned from her job earlier this month.

(AP) A Minnesota company is considering a plant in central North Dakota that would use bacteria to make natural gas and fertilizer from lignite, manure and the leftover liquid from ethanol production. St. Paul-based Proterra Bioconversion is asking the Mercer County Commission to help by issuing bonds for the six million dollar project hear Hazen.

(Information from: Bismarck Tribune, http://www.bismarcktribune.com) GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) A federal judge has overturned federal approval of a variety of sugar beets genetically engineered to resist a weed killer produced by Agricultural giant Monsanto Co.

The judge ruled the Agriculture Department's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service violated environmental law by failing to take a "hard look" at whether the "Roundup Ready" sugar beets created by Monsanto would eventually share their genes with other crops.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) The state's congressional delegation says Mercer and McLean counties are to share nearly $790,000 for a two-county narcotics task force. The money would be used to fight meth.
