Honor Flight LettersSep 26 2009 11:16PM
KXMBTV Bismarck .we went into a local school as students were writing letter to the veterans. The letters are known as V-Mail. They are handed out to veterans throughout the trip to let them know people are greatful for their service. We tracked the letters written by the students in the story you saw last week... (Veteran) Thank you so much for fighting for me so I have freedom. My name is Hannah and I am ten years old. I think it is awesome that you would risk being killed for me. I have a couple of questions. Was it hard leaving your family. Did you use the morse code. Please write back. Thank your (Veteran) Dear w-w-two veteran. Hi, my name is Macy. I know how your family felt when you left. In 2007 my father left for Iraq for 18 months. I still remember the day he came home. it was the happiest day of my life. But it wasnt as scary as when you went. Thank yo so much for your service (veteran) "Dear veteran thank you for serving and protecting our nation. it mean a lot that you served and protected us. You were out there and being brave a brave person. Thank you from Jordan." Tomorrow night we have the final story from the recent RoughRider Honor Flight to Washington DC. One veteran reunites with his brother nearly three decades later...It's an emotional reunion you wont want to miss.
