You might say Kami Hanson's experience this weekend was a bit like a first year bowler rolling a 300...

Maybe a rookie in Major League Baseball tossing a perfect game.

That is basically what the senior at Des Lacs-Burlington High School is a rookie in the sport of hunting.

This is her first year and it will be one she won't soon forget!

This is what she bagged Saturday near Berthold! A bull Moose weighing in at about 900 pounds with a 38 inch spread.

In her first year, she was lucky enough to get her hunting tag and after weeks of scouting got this big guy.

It was a day-long chore getting him loaded up...but certainly worth all the work.

(Kami Hanson - DLB Senior) "It is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I will never get another moose in ND and I am the first one in my family. Everyone was excited! I have never even shot a deer...this is my first year applying for anything so this was really exciting and kind of different."
