KXMCTV Minot Landy Brown, Pure Energy Minot wooed us, they wanted us to be a part of the growth in the city Pure Energy employs around 50 people, and has plans to expand and add services. Since May, a new construction equipment dealer in town, located at 5015 Highway Two East. Titan Machinery, a Case dealer, has 68 stores across the Midwest, and Minot is their second location in Western North Dakota. Manage Shawn Tague says they wanted to expand to Minot due to the oil boom and increased construction activity in the area. Dacotah Bank currently has two locations in Minot, but they are closing the North Broadway bank by the end of the year. President G.W. Melgaard says the decision was made because the growth in Minot has shifted to the south side, and daily transactions have declined on North Hill. He says some of the staff has already re-located to 1121 South Broadway, but the drive up and ATM will remain until year's end. A name change for the what used to be JR's Vacuum in the Slumberland Plaza. The store is now known as the Vacuum and Sewing Center of Minot. The name change is because this store is independantly owned from the other JR store's in North Dakota. Have you noticed something happening between Edgewood Village and Edgewood Vista? They have started work on a center that will be called Edgewood Junction, a community center that will include a fitness room, spa, deli and a theater. A nice addition for residents to use. It should be finished in the spring. For Business Beat I'm Carla Burbidge
