Minot's new energy park gets tenantOct 19 2009 2:13AM
Associated Press Minot, N.D. (AP) Minot's new energy park has its first tenant. Badlands PowerFuels, a transportation company that specializes in moving drilling fluids and crude oil, is buying 20 acres the largest of seven lots in Minot's Energy Park West. Owner Mark Johnsrud says the company intends to open a truck repair and maintenance facility in the park. Badlands PowerFuels also has service shops in both Watford City and Tioga and an administrative office in Minot. It also has locations in Dickinson, Williston, Killdeer and Sidney, Mont. The Great Plains Energy Park east of Minot quickly filled up after it was opened. Minot got a $1.5 million federal grant earlier this fall for expansion, to help support the growing oil and gas industry in western North Dakota.
