Hanson: NDSU experience may help in new jobOct 23 2009 8:46PM
Associated Press Richard Hanson starts his job Dec. 1. He'll be replacing Joseph Chapman, who submitted his resignation last week. Hanson says his job is to make sure student needs are met and get NDSU ready for its next transition. He says he hasn't thought about whether he will seek the permanent NDSU job. Hanson is 59 years old and a native of Hillsboro. He was a standout Football player when he attended NDSU, and he went on to play a few years with the New York Giants. He is now president of Waldorf College in north-central Iowa. Waldorf is a Lutheran school. Hanson has been looking for another job because Waldorf is being sold to a private Alabama school called Columbia Southern University.
