BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) A Grand Forks lawmaker who chairs a committee studying the state's personnel system wants to change how North Dakota employees get raises. Currently the governor proposes an overall raise amount, and State Representative Ken Svedjan (SVEH'-jun) says some workers think that's what they'll get.

Minot, N.D. (AP) A former postmaster in the Grenora post office has been sentenced to probation for failing to report money made from retail postal sales and taking the money for personal use. Court documents say Elaine Esterby took nearly $2,800. She later returned it.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) Police say an autopsy has been ordered as they investigate the death of a 19-year-old Bismarck State College student. Beau Zietz wasn't breathing when he was found in an apartment Monday night. Police say his age was the only suspicious factor in the death.
