House vote coming on health overhaul...Piecing together Fort Hood puzzle

Washington (AP) The way has been cleared for a House vote Saturday on one version of the health care overhaul. President Barack Obama will make one last pitch for his signature legislation on Capitol Hill. Under a late-night agreement, abortion opponents will be given an opportunity to try and insert tougher restrictions into the legislation.

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) Investigators have examined the computer, the home and the garbage of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the man suspected of killing 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas. He's hospitalized in a coma after being shot four times. Hospital officials say some of the wounded are badly hurt and might not survive.

WASHINGTON (AP) Authorities say a 5.7-millimeter pistol that was used in the Fort Hood shooting was purchased legally.

Authorities say more than 100 rounds were fired during the shooting spree that killed 13 people. Gun control advocates call the weapon a cop killer because some ammo it uses can penetrate bulletproof vests.

UNITED NATIONS (AP) The U.N. Security Council has joined the chorus calling on Afghan President Hamid Karzai to fight corruption after he was declared the victor in the nation's disputed election.

Britain and the U.S. have also done so. The Security Council, however, says it's looking forward to working with Karzai.

HONOLULU (AP) Evidence that the arts are feeling the economic pinch. The oldest Symphony in the nation west of the Rocky Mountains has filed for bankruptcy protection and canceled concerts for the rest of the year. The Honolulu Symphony says donations have dropped off but vows a comeback, hopefully next year.
