Governor Directs Flags To Be Flown At Half Staff

Bismarck, N.D. – In accorDance with a directive issued by the President, Gov. John Hoeven today directed all government agencies in the state to fly the American and North Dakota flags at half staff until Veterans Day in honor of the victims of the Fort Hood shootings. Effective today, the flags are directed to be flown at half staff from sunrise to sunset each day until November 11.

“On behalf of the people of North Dakota, Mikey and I extend our deepest sympathies to those who were injured and to the families of those who lost their lives as a result of yesterday’s deadly attack at Fort Hood,” said Hoeven. “Our state and nation grieve the loss of these American heroes and stand ready to support the Fort Hood community, as well as our brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our nation and preserve our way of life.”
