Linton HMB has a great history in sports, but for the Volleyball team, it's their first ever trip to State.

Yet, coaches and players say just making the tournament isn't good enough.

They have plans to make the big one.

A balanced offense and defense has lead to success, and it's something they plan to ride through their first round match against Flasher, and the experience of their seven seniors will lead the way.

" (ASHLEE FEIST/ LIONS DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST) We'll just need to stay focused and even though we're at state we still need to play all we've got and hopefully come out with some wins

(JAMIE RICHTER/ LIONS HEAD COACH) Anything I've asked of them this year they've taken the challenge I think because it is such a balanced team this year they feel they don't have the pressure and they just go out there and do their job."


On the other side of the court, Flasher is the Region Five Champions and their program is no stranger to State.

The Bulldogs were there just three seasons ago.



"(Jeryln Gabrielson:) For us, it is having everyone contribute. We rely on a couple of key players, but when we have those that can continue to step up and chip in, whether it be defensively and offensively, the key for us is to just have everyone contribute. "


The Lions and Bulldogs battle tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. central.

The rest of 'the B' looks like this.

Wyndmere-Lidgerwood collides with Kenmare at noon, PR-F-L has Hazen at six and Harvey squares off with Stanley at eight.

In 'the A,' its Century and Devils Lake at noon, followed by Williston and Fargo South at two.

Dickinson and Red River at six, and BHS against Fargo North at eight.
