Police say Bismarck escapee foundNov 24 2009 11:54AM
Associated Press New Town, N.D. (AP) Police say a teenager who left the Bismarck Transition Center without permission while awaiting trial has been found in New Town. Police planned to bring 18-year-old Virgil Standing Crow III back to Bismarck on Tuesday. Sgt. Mark Buschena said the case will be sent to the Burleigh County prosecutor's office. Buschena said Standing Crow was awaiting trial on a charge involving alcohol possession by a minor. Court documents said he was arrested after he failed to show up for court on Nov. 9. His trial is scheduled for Jan. 4. The transition center holds nonviolent inmates before trials and helps former prisoners ease back into community life.
