Mandan Hoops

Set to start soon is another set of State Champions...

the boys Basketball team from Mandan.

Practice began on Monday for the Braves, who lost only once last season enroute to the Class A Championship.

While Mandan lost a few starters to graduation, their big guy, Bryan Kielpinski is back and he'll be their go-to-guy.

"(Bryan Kielpinski:) I think there will be some pressure on me, just kind of to be looked on to as a leader of scorer, but I guess I have got to step up and kind of enforce the role on the team.

(Jason Horner:) I don't know Bryan means to us. He is such a humble kid and a good kid and we rely so much on him, both offensively and defensively and offensively, he needs to command the ball and we need to play off of him and get the ball inside. You know that they are going to double team him from there, so we need to knock down open shots. "

The Braves begin their season on December 4th when they host Fargo Shanley. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
