high-school MHS Girls B-BallNov 24 2009 7:23PM
KXMCTV Minot 40 players are out for this year's team and with a smaller lineup, the team will look to push the ball up the floor and rely on its defense. Todd Magnuson, MHS girls basketball coach:Size wise our tallest girl is about 5'10. We're looking at Holly Johnson who's about 5'10, Ashley Bauer's around that 5'10 so we got a couple girls right at that height, most of our girls are guards, we got a lot of guards so we're gonna have to shoot the ball this year and we're gonna have to push the ball up and down the court. We have about 5 returning letterwinners. One starter who came back from last year in Katelyn Larson, one of our starting girls and then we got the Nagel girls, Mackenzie/Mickayla who came off and played a lot for us last year so got a few kids playing who played last year. Katelyn Larson, junior:I think we can push the ball up a lot, like get a quicker offense going and I think our press will be pretty good. Mickayla Nagel, senior:We're pretty much all guards except for like a few people and we're not real deep of a bench so it'll be interesting. The Majettes open their season December 4th when they host Fargo North.
