HELENA, Mont. (AP) Montana State defensive end Dane Fletcher has been named the Big Sky Conference defenive MVP. Montana State had three other players on the first team, while Big Sky champion Montana had nine players named to the first team and six players on the second team. HELENA, Mont. (AP) Montana senior Whitney Hobbs has been named the final Big Sky Conference Volleyball player of the week for the regular season.Hobbs led the Grizzlies in a road sweep of Weber State and Idaho State last weekend that clinched Montana's spot in the upcoming Big Sky tournament.

Missoula, Mont. (AP) The University of Montana says Missoula's bid to host the 2010 NCAA Football Championship Subdivision title game did not make the final cut. Frisco, Texas and Chattanooga, Tenn. which has hosted the title game since 1997 are the finalists.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) Aubrey Vandiver scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Wyoming beat Black Hills State 68-45 last night. Wyoming (5-0) scored the game's first 13 points and led comfortably throughout against the Yellow Jackets, an NAIA program.

Keely Krolikowski led Black Hills State (5-2) with 19 points.
