KXMCTV Minot Perry Olson shows us the plans and what the addition will mean to the WSC campus. Ground is changing location at Williston State... (Dave Richter - WSC Workforce Dean) "It was a really nice day when they brought the equipment in and started moving dirt!" ...for the first time in a great while. It has been years since a new facility has been built and this Career and Technical Center should be a huge asset to the college and the region when it is complete... (Dave Richter - WSC Workforce Dean) "It is a career and tech center that is designed for the area so we can enhance the offerings of the area high schools that are part of the Great Northwest education Cooperative." Williston State will benefit with new courses to be offered area high schools, too and area business should as well. oil is certainly dominating the landscape in this part of the state so oil related business has followed. Meeting the needs of those companies will be a big part of what this Career and Technical Center does... (Dave Richter - WSC Workforce Dean) "When we look at the programs we are offering we took into consideration the job market in NW ND in the small towns and bigger communities and designed our programs so that is meets the needs of the area." It should mean growth for those companies and the college too. Perry Olson, KX News. These new facilities on campus are geared at increasing on-campus enrollment... But where will the students who attend Williston State live? They will soon have a new option and it is much needed. Perry looks at that tomorrow night.
