The Des Lacs Burlington Lakers girls Basketball team is getting ready for the start of another season. Last year the Lakers finished 13 and 10 and took 4th place in the region. This year they have 19 girls out

and first year coach Teal Eggert is going to rely on her teams quickness and experience this season.

( TEAL EGGERT)"We're going to definately rely on our quickness, uh we have a lot of speed and were going to be able to get up and down the floor and push that ball up and down. All five of my seniors are definately going to have to pick it up and show that their leaders. We're definately going to need Deidre and Brianna and Sam on the outside and Brittany and Katie in the middle for us and all five of the seniors are going to be very vital. Our season goal is to definately make a region appearance and state at the end. We are setting our goals high and we want to reach those goals."


(DEIDRE KARHOFF)" Well we have five returning seniors so that is a plus for us. We lost one player Jessica Skees, she was really big for us but we should be able to have a lot of experience back and ya know we like to run the ball a lot so hopefully we can do that and then we still have Brittany and Katie down low so we can go to them for posting."


( SAM BENZMILLER)" We have a new coach this year, so thats a little different and I think she is going to lead us pretty far this season and we should hopefully make it past districts and regionals hopefully to state.
