Montana officials seek restrictions at Holter LakeNov 28 2009 3:17PM
Associated Press HELENA, Mont. (AP) Officials with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks are considering restricting wake surfing and tubing in upper Holter Lake from the mouth of the canyon to the Gates of the Mountains. Officials say the existing rule that restricts water skiing in the congested area was written before the new recreation forms became popular. Officials say wake surfing and tubing should also be restricted during weekends and holidays for safety reasons because of the high density of boat traffic and the narrowness of the canyon. The agency is taking public comments on the proposed revisions through Dec. 23. Information from: Independent Record, http://www.helenair.com (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
