MANDAN, N.D. (AP) Mandan police are investigating an apparent scam in which people claiming to be residents put an all-terrain vehicle up for sale on the online auction site e-Bay.

Lieutenant Paul Leingang says it's happened six times recently.

One of the sellers used the address of a Mandan motel, and others have used real street names with bogus house numbers.

Leingang says the cost of the bogus A-T-V's has ranged from 27-hundred to 32-hundred dollars. He says all of the money for the six A-T-Vs appears to have been picked up in Florida.

Leingang advises people not to wire money to people they don't know for products advertised online.
