FLANDREAU, S.D. (AP) A 19-year-old man has been given 100 days behind bars for a Moody County crash that resulted in the death of 17-year-old Kayla Gaff of Colman last year.

Ryan Flatten must spend ten days of his sentence in the State Penitentiary and the rest in jail.

Flatten also must stay away from alcohol, and his driving will be restricted.

If he successfully completes his four years of probation, his criminal record will be erased.

Flatten was convicted of vehicular homicide after pleading no contest to the charge.

Gaff died when Flatten's S-U-V flipped and she was ejected.
