Northwood teacher to represent state in adult spellling bee...Jun 11 2007 10:12AM
Associated Press NORTHWOOD (AP) spelling bees are not just for youngsters. The A-A-R-P is holding a National Senior Spelling Bee this weekend in Cheyenne, Wyoming. About 100 adults from 31 states are expected to compete. North Dakota's representative is Larry Grossman of Northwood. He's been teaching school for 30 years. Grossman teaches at Fordville-Lankin High School. He won North Dakota's adult state spelling bee five times. Grossman says he's preparing for this weekend's competition by studying lists from earlier spelling bees. And he's trying to learn as many unusual words as possible.
