Dog stolen from Humane Society foundJun 19 2007 10:42AM
Associated Press The American Staffordshire terrier was taken from the shelter last Friday. Police say the dog was found with a couple in Mandan who now face a possession of stolen property charge. Humane Society Director Sue Buchholz says the couple appear to be the same ones who looked at Ruby last Friday, asked about animal adoption policies and left. Buchholz says about an hour later, a man came and asked to see the dog, and took her for a walk but did not return. Buchholz says society staff members spent the weekend looking for the dog and spotted her in a car that pulled up outside a home. A staff member then went to the door and asked for the dog back, and police were called. Ruby is said to be in good condition except for bug bites and a sore on her neck from a thick leather collar. My guess? Is the people that stole ruby had other plans like have her breed and then use the puppies for other reasons such as raising these types of terriers to be used for fighting or having these animals protect someone's illegal activities in their homes.
The people that stole this dog might not receive any type of charge most likely probation like with every other legal court process.
Ruby is safe and sound.Im sure there are people out there that have a kind and caring heart that would love to adopt ruby.I hope ruby finds a home.
