Man pleads not guilty in shooting death

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) A not-guilty plea in a Great Falls shooting.

Brian Walsh entered the plea yesterday, in the May 27th shooting death of 24-year-old T-J Waldock.

Court records say Walsh walked out of an apartment bedroom with a handgun, pointed it at Waldock's head and pulled the trigger.

Waldock was sitting on a couch when he was shot with a .40-caliber gun.

Cascade County Attorney Brant Light said there appeared to be no fighting, arguing or altercation leading up to the shooting.

He says he won't seek the death penalty if Walsh is convicted.

District Judge Thomas McKittrick set an October 1st trial date.

Walsh remains jailed on one (m) million dollars bail.
