A family escapes from a fire that destroys their home.

Around three this afternoon, Bismarck Rural Fire responds to this home at 10701 twenty-second Avenue Southeast.

Fire Chief Al Klein says when they arrived flames were coming out of the roof of the garage.

This is where the family told fire crews they noticed the fire started.

(Al Klein/ Bismarck Fire Chief) "It seems to have started in the area of one of the cars that is in the garage and then of course it spreads to the other car that was in the garage and to the structure itself. At this point we are not sure if that is exactly what happened but that is what we are thinking."
