Hurricane Katrina victims come to Grand ForksJun 12 2008 11:12AM
Associated Press By DAVE KOLPACK Associated Press Writer Grand Forks, N.D. (AP) Members of a Louisiana community devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 are in Grand Forks to hear about a different kind of disaster. Representatives of St. Bernard Parish are touring areas of Grand Forks that were wiped out by the 1997 Red River flood. The group will spend the next two days discussing business revival and other recovery issues. Polly Boudreaux is one of the St. Bernard Parish members. She says every disaster is different but she already feels "a Kindred spirit" with the people of Grand Forks. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 06-12-08 1039CDT |
