KXMCTV Minot And that has a lot to do with the fact it's held in the country of Peru. For the first time ever, Minot State University gave students an opportunity to study abroad in the South American nation at a language institute in Lima, Peru. For three weeks, participants attended classes on language, culture, and even Dance. Their final week was spent sightseeing in other parts of the country, including one of the 7 wonders of the world- "The lost city of the Incas" known as Machu Picchu MA-CHOO PEE-CHOO. MSU Senior, Whitney Loftesnes LOFT-ESS-NESS, says the trip was a great learning experience and also a bit of a culture shock. (Whitney Loftesnes, MSU Student) "The people were so friendly, and what really seemed different there is the people are so interested and loyal to their culture and their ancestors, and they stick with it still today. That was really interesting to be able to see that side of them and how proud they are of their country." The month-long trip was part of MSU's "Language and Culture in Peru" class, instructed by Peru native, Kemerly Moorhouse.
