Health Care Meeting

Busines leaders meet to discuss healthcare reform.

Senator Kent Conrad and Representative Earl Pomery hold a town hall meeting in Bismarck this morning.

It's part of a series of town hall meetings across the state during the August recess.

Senator Kent Conrad says he is against any proposal that pays the insurance for illegal aliens and abortions.

Conrad also is spending time talking about his co-op healthcare option.

This is Conrad's alternative to government run healthcare by allowing people to form it's own group or insurance type company.

(Sen. Kent Conrad/ D-ND) "People in North Dakota are very realistic. They understand that we have a very serious challenge facing our country and out families and businesses of costs that are running and spiraling out of control."

Representative Pomeroy says this is the best chance congress has of passing healthcare reform.

He says in the 90's under the CLinton Administration people were too worried about getting the "perfect" bill and ended up with nothing.

Pomeroy says it is time the country takes a good step to ensure coverage for everyone. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
