Best Buy Singer

Making it to the national stage.

It seems a long ways from North Dakota...

But with some risks...there is a lot of reward.

Brad Feldman shows you one man getting a shot in hopes it will bring more success down the road.

(Sound - commercial) Catchy..

(sound) and different

It's a simple way of describing the Best Buy Gift Advice ad's

But for one of the carolers...it's his shot

(Kermit Culver) "He and his brother are in a band in Nashville and trying to make it like starving musicians in Nashville like everybody else but he works at Best Buy on the side." Adam's side gig landed Adam Culver in this national ad campaign for the Christmas season

The Best Buy corporate office went looking for some of it's own employees to carry a tune..

(Kermit Culver/ Adam's Dad) "So he thought about it and I think he just kind of threw it away and his fiancee that also works in the same store signed him up for it." Kermit says music is his son's life...he has lived in Nashville the last three years pursuing a music career. Adam and his brother are part of a band, called "The Future." (Kermit Culver/ Adam's Dad) "I asked him one time after we were talking well what do you think this is going to mean to you in the pursuit of your musical career... I mean they are realated but not really connected. He said it just says to me that you can make it...you can get the break everybody waits for." And for his dad, flipping on the television at home and seeing his son is surreal

(Kermit Culver/ Adam's Dad) "He plays the character in this commercial pretty naturally because he is just this goober from North Dakota." (Sound) A solo (Sound) And a chance to have fun in front of millions..

(Sound) All in a thirty second spot that could land this young man a life time of opportunities

Culver was first chosen to just be in the internet ads...

After spending a week in New York shooting the online commercials he went back to work in the store...A week later the producer came to visit him and told him they wanted him back to be in the television commercials. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
