GOP group launches listening tour to rebrand imageMay 2 2009 9:07PM
Associated Press Three prominent members of the GOP have launched a listening tour at a Washington, D.C.-area pizza parlor. They along with other members of the National Council for a New America plan to listen to Americans' opinions on health care, the economy and the rising cost of college tuition, in an effort to remold the party. Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia held the town-hall style meeting in Arlington, Va. Bush says he might not like acknowledging it, but "You can't beat something with nothing, and the other side has something." Romney says he thinks some of the best answers to the nation's problems come from the people he serves. % |
