How long are we going to continue to do this?
Posted On: Oct 27 2009 10:52PM

We invade and occupy a country, and then label as "insurgents" or even "terrorists" the people in that country who fight against our invasion and occupation.  With the most circular logic imaginable, we then insist that we must remain in order to defeat the "insurgents" and "terrorists" largely composed of people whose only cause for fighting is our presence in their country.  All the while, we clearly exacerbate the very problem we are allegedly attempting to address Terrorism by predictably and inevitably increasing anti-American anger and hatred through our occupation, which, no matter the strategy, inevitably entails our killing innocent civilians.

Aw shoot....I thought you were going to ask how long the people on this board were going to continue to shoot each other down. Nuts...
Posted On: Oct 27 2009 11:13PM

It's just one disappointment after another living life under the Obama administration...

Peace and Semper Fidelis...

We have to continue to do this as long as there are peoples living who seek to do harm to other peoples - what would you have us do - dig bomb shelters and live underground until we all die?

I also thought he was going to ask how long KXnet is going to let us  be mean to each other. :(
Posted On: Oct 28 2009 10:18AM

Right on! Right on! Right on

Spoken like a true liberal and supporter of Osama Bin-lauden. A true chicken terrorist!!!!

I am starting to think that Rugby is really Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Their talking points are identical.

Hey Rugby, get a job ..... I think aljazeera is hiring.

Posted On: Oct 28 2009 10:22AM

Can't we just Nuukke them all and start over?  :)
Posted On: Oct 28 2009 10:50AM

"Can't we just nuke them all and start over"

Now that's a real Christian way of looking at it, isn't it shoppe?

By the way, who appointed the US to be the policemen of the world?

If you want war, then be prepared to sacrifice YOUR sons and daughters for it.  Don't just sit there behind a computer screen and cheer the war on.

Your kids, shoppe, YOUR KIDS

Posted On: Oct 28 2009 12:02PM

Pest

You are sitting there and cheering the terrorists on. Why don't you send your kids over there to fight for the terrorists? Why don't you sacrifice your kids?

Posted On: Oct 28 2009 12:09PM

blmccr, my oldest daughter was in the reserves for 8 yrs.  My husband served in Vietnam.  My brother was in the Air Guard for most of his adult life.  He is retired now.  I had an uncle killed in WW2.

My grandson is 23, and he wants no part of it.  That's OK with me because I don't support the Iraqi war, myself.  If he wanted to join and go over there, I would try and discourage him, but I wouldn't be able to stop him.  I'm just glad he sees it the way I do.  There have been sacrifices in my family for this country.  And I don't like war.

Pest, Noooooooo .... you are supporting the terrorists with your posts. You must have made sacrifices for the terrorists. Making sacrifices for our nation does not give you the right to support the terrorists by the criteria laid out by both you and Rugby. You guys are chicken terrorists. You support the terrorists, but would never strap on a bomb belt yourself.

Even if everything went perfectly in Afghanistan — which it won’t — the results would be virtually meaningless: Our mortal enemies (above all, al-Qaeda) have dug in elsewhere, from Pakistan to Somalia.  Our soldiers are dying for a fad, not for a strategy. Our vaunted counterinsurgency doctrine is the military equivalent of hula hoops, pet rocks and Beanie Babies.

I'll tell ya something, blmccr, if I am guilty of supporting the terrorists, it sure isn't the same ones who took down the towers.  Those guys were home-grown.

.....just when I think there is a spark of normalcy with Pets, she starts spewing what amounts to insanity, deep insanity...........pets, you ARE with a VERY minute fringe of lunatics that believes as you do, and without any SHRED of evidence.  But it is a "right" to be insane, I guess................
